Acro Buddhas, Tmrw.Tday Culture Fest | Acro Yoga, Jamaica

By Tmrw.Tday Team

Miranda and Ryan are the Acro Buddhas. They met in 2007 and have been inseparable ever since. They felt an immediate connection and although each year offers up new challenges to the pair, they always make sure to support each other along their journey.

"Each day we seek to do what we love and follow the deepest rooted passions of our soul."

It might not seem like it, but the Acro Buddhas discovered acro yoga pretty recently – back in 2013. They saw pictures on Instagram of crazy acrobatic postures and decided to give it a go. Having both come from strong movement backgrounds, it was as if they had been preparing for acro yoga their entire lives without even knowing it. Combined, the Acro Buddhas have over 40 years of formal training and experience in dance, numerous lineages of yoga, cheerleading, muay thai, personal training all while harbouring a genuine passion for how the body moves and works. Within a few months of foraying into this bendy, new realm, the pair discovered a burning desire to work together as acro performers. Since, the Acro Buddhas have performed at many different music festivals and private events.

Often said to be captivating, even spellbinding when they perform, the Acro Buddhas are mostly humbled by the many new friendships their acro journey has brought them.

Miranda and Ryan treat conscious living as a lifestyle choice.

"Living consciously is living each moment whole heartedly; physically, mentally, and emotionally. Allow yourself to be accepting of yourself just as you are each day. Always keep an open mind to enable growth, insight, and reflection. The journey is lifelong. Embrace it all in the vibration of love."

Miranda and Ryan have been fortunate enough for their passion of dance and movement to allow them to travel, which is one of their favourite things to do.

“Each time we travel we feel refreshed and grounded. It opens our eyes to understanding different ways of life. When we travel and experience new cultures, we often reflect and think that we are all really just one. It’s more simple than the world has made it up to be. We all simply seek love.”

The best part out of all of this is that this newfound love and adventure was seeded completely from passion and love. At Tmrw.Tday, they hope to inspire self love and to inspire each person they connect with to look inwards, peel back the layers, and seek within. To you, they ask: what is your soul’s calling?
